The talk features the difficult navigation into Harwich Harbour from Felixstowe across Mill Bay (now Dovercourt Bay) and the German Ocean (now North Sea) to Walton on Naze.
The first light may have been sited on the steeple of the first Church (Chappele of Herewych) founded by Roger Bigod in 1177.
